Tempeh can be treated like your favourite “steak”. It can withstand all forms of marinating, smoking and any other kinds of physical stress. We will baste it in a marinade of mustard, tamari sauce, kimchi ketchup, garlic, rosemary and a splash of love.
INGREDIENTS
Tamari sauce
Kimchi ketchup
Garlic
Syrup / sweetener / sugar
Rosemary
Salt, pepper
Sesame
METHOD
- Mix all the ingredients for the marinade in which the tempeh will be basted in a blender.
- It is recommended to leave the tempeh in the marinade overnight to soak up the flavours, but it can also be cooked immediately.
- Before roasting, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds on top, which will toast beautifully along with the tempeh.
- Cook the tempeh in a moderately hot frying pan on one side until dark brown. Then turn it over and repeat the exercise. The tempeh should be well browned and caramelised on both sides.
- Finally, slice the tempeh, serve with some cranberry jam, kimchi ketchup and mayonnaise.
